Darebin Council rebates

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the Darebin Council rebate, you must meet one of the following criteria: 

  • A valid concession card (Health Care Card or a Pensioner Concession Card, Federal Concession Card, or Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card) 
  • A combined household income of $120,000* or less  

Note: eligible residents are only able to access Darebin Council rebates once through the program. 

*If you are living in a household with three or more adult income earners, e.g. renters in a share house, you may still be eligible for the Darebin Council rebate. Total household income must be no more than the average of $60,000 per adult income earner, capped at $300,000 income per household.

Required evidence

To receive the Darebin City Council rebate, one of the following must be submitted: 

  • Valid concession card (Health Care Card or a Pensioner Concession Card, Federal Concession Card, or Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card). 

  • 2024–25 financial year tax assessments for all household income earners.

Gas disconnection rebate $220 rebate if you are removing the last gas appliance (cook top, hot water or heating/cooling system) in your home through this program and you intend to disconnect from gas. 

Note: no eligibility criteria, this rebate is available for any Darebin resident. Limited to the first 30 households.

 

Note: all Darebin Council rebates can be stacked with all other existing Federal and State rebates.

Tick the appropriate box for the rebate eligibility criteria – either concession card or low-income.  

For concession card holders, concession card and proof of residence will need to be provided to the vetted supplier at the time of your home visit.  

For low-income households, you will be sent a link to provide your notice of assessment for one of the last two financial years and proof of residence to Darebin City Council. 

Once your evidence has been sited, the rebate amount will be listed on your firm quote. 

Rebates for businesses

Darebin Council rebates for businesses

Darebin’s Energy$mart program provides a rebate of up to $1,000 for Darebin based businesses and organisations upgrading to a reverse cycle air conditioner or heat pump hot water system.

This rebate can be stacked with all other existing Federal and State rebates.
